What to expect during this 5-day photography workshop: diverse hillside landscape scenery in the heart of the Tuscany of Auvergne with picturesque villages.  The spectacular and unique light conditions playing on the dramatic Massif Central mountain and volcano chains, will take your breath away.  We will explore the Billom area through the maze of small hillside roads and hiking trails. Although the main focus will be landscape photography those of you who like macro, close-up or street photography will have plenty of opportunities to indulge during the walks in the field and the small villages. Throughout the day, you will get personal field instruction as well as photo feedback.  The group is kept small so that every participant gets enough personal attention.Be assured of a great learning experience and of course a lot of fun sightseeing and hiking along short trails. A short photo holiday in combination with a great learning experience

Spoken language The main language of the workshop will be English. (Kristel is native Dutch and understands German/French)

Photographic subjects : Landscapes (meadows, forests, hills, agricultural fields, mountains and volcanoes), Panoramic views over the valley in soft morning/evening light, Sunflowers in soft morning/evening light, Picturesque villages, Castles, Romanesque churches, local producers (garlic, wine, knife-maker etc.)

Photographic topics : Basic of Landscape photography, Creating stronger compositions, Finding the right angle, Eye for detail , Usage of natural light and play with it (reflections and shadows), Using different focal lengths and how they impact your images.

Photography Knowledge required:
Accessible to everyone. (The basic camera settings will only be partly repeated)
(those who are totally new to photography or just bought a new camera, can follow the ‘Improve your technique workshop‘ the day before this workshop with a 10% reduction discount).

  • For the enthusiastic photographer who like to practice an in-field training and in the meantime enjoy a short photo holiday in the beautiful heart of France,

  • Limited to only 3 people to insure individual guidance so book early.

  • By plane (KLM/Air France, Hop.fr fly to Clermont Ferrand)
  • By train (Paris, Lyon have a good connections to Clermont Ferrand)
  • By car to (about 4h30 min. hrs from Paris, about 2h30 min. from Lyon)
