Happy to announce that my image ‘Berries’ was Highly Commended in Category Plants and Fungi at
GDT EUROPEAN WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2017 
Next to the WPY (Wildlife Photographer of the Year (BBC) competition for me this is the second High standard Competition for Nature Photographers around.
The GDT’s focus is on innovative and creative images, that’s why I am very happy to get this Highly Commended for my ‘Berries’, a personal favorite.
This image is also published in my first book: Variations in Trees, that will be available early December 2017.

May 25 the book Les plus belles Forêts d’Auvergne et du Limousin was launched by Page Centrale in Thiers.
This book brings together the best photographs, mostly unpublished, from the Auvergne and Limousin forests by local photographers.
Photographers: Philippe Aboulin, Jean-Francois Amelot, Benoît Barres, Philippe Bousseaud, Remi Flament, Fabrice Cahez Cyril Coudert, Forest Follies, Patrick Morand, Luc Olivier, Museum of chestnut Montjoux Didier Pepin Christophe Rué, Kristel Schneider and Fabrice Vincent. Text by: Claudy Combe, forest engineer.
I am happy to be part of this beautiful book, with 15 of my tree/forest scene images published.
The book format is 24*30cm, has 168 pages with 94 images text in France .

To photograph trees

Nat’images, the nature edition of the popular French photo magazine Chasseur d’Image, published an article and image portfolio from me about Tree photography.
The article (written by Kristel Schneider and translated/adapted (French) by F.Rousseau) describes the different approaches in tree photography.
A total of 8 pages is published in the nr. 31 April/May 2015 issue. For those who live in France the issue is now for sale in the kiosks.
